| Conference on Software Engineering Education & Training 2007 – request for submission of papers
Started in 1987 by Norm Gibbs at the Software Engineering Institute (SEI), the Conference on Software Engineering Education & Training (CSEE&T) has become the premier annual conference focusing on education and training in software engineering. The conference has received the sustained support and sponsorship of IEEE - Computer Society, academia and industry. Responding to the global impact of software engineering practices, CSEE&T was held in Spain in 2003 and Canada in 2005. Dublin City University is hosting CSEET 2007 in Ireland. It has been decided to hold the 2009 edition of CSEET in India. The conference attracts educators in academia and professionals in industry, offering a forum for sharing experiences and fostering collaborations in improving the state-of-the-art and state-of-the-practice of software engineering. The conference features Keynote addresses, contributed papers, workshops and panels. Starting with CSEE&T 2006 in Hawaii, an Acedemy for Software Engineering Education and Training (ASEE&T) has been added to the program. Software Engineering has covered vast ground since the 1968/1969 NATO conferences. Heavyweight and agile methodologies co-exist; development of products and custom software co-exist; routine software is outsourced and developed offshore; strategic software is developed in-house. Collaborative development of software with team members spread across different geographies has become common. Globalization has brought in the synergy of specialists working toward a common cause. Customers are pressurizing software engineers to produce tangible values on the investment. How does software engineering education in academia and training in industry handle the above expectations? Are the students and professionals adequately equipped to meet the challenges in delivering value and upholding the respectability of the profession? Does the state-of-the-practice diverge from the state-of-the-art? Is the state-of-the-art alive to the realities of the state-of-the-practice? You are invited to share with peers your research, experience and ideas during the CSEE&T 2007 conference to be held in Dublin, Ireland during 3-5 July 2007. Following is a partial list of possible areas for exploration and sharing - all in the context of software engineering education & training. The list is by no means exhaustive and authors may submit papers in areas not covered here but consistent with the central theme of the conference. ? Education theory and pedagogy (ETP) ? Curriculum and inter-disciplinary offerings (CID) ? Learning environments and tools (LET) ? Performance evaluation methods (PEM) ? Student projects and internships (SPI) ? Training models in industry (TMI) ? Industry-academia collaboration models (IAC) ? Value driven software engineering (VSE) Kindly visit the conference website at http://www.computing.dcu.ie/cseet2007 for further details. |
